Shopping for your wedding dress with us is an experience unlike any other. Its luxurious and unhurried and its all about you. We also know that it can sometimes be a touch overwhelming simply because it is new. To help you prepare yourself and to make sure that you're relaxed before you've even walked through our door we have put together answers to the questions we are asked most often about wedding dress shopping. We hope you find this helpful.

  • When should I start looking for my dress?
Once you have your wedding date you're good to go! There’s no hard and fast rule—every bride is unique! It all depends on your personal timeline. Super organised bride If you’re the super-organised type, some start shopping 24-30 months in advance. This gives you plenty of time to plan, budget, and dream! Most brides Most of our brides shop 12-24 months before their big day, which allows for ample time to get your gown, fittings, and perfect accessories sorted. Less than a year If you’re ready to tie the knot in 9-12 months because you snagged a fantastic venue deal, we’ve got you covered! We can still ensure your dress is made and fitted to perfection thanks to our amazing seamstress, Caroline. Last minute Even if you’re working with just 1-9 months, don’t stress! While your options might be a bit more limited, many of our designers have stock on hand that we can ‘live pick’ for you, plus we offer a fabulous ‘ready to buy’ range. Caroline will make sure you’re all set, no matter how last-minute! Whatever your timeline, we’re dedicated to making your experience amazing. Our brides tell us they don’t need to visit every shop in town because we have over 100 stunning styles to suit every shape, size, and budget, all paired with exceptional service. We can’t wait to meet you! Get ready for a fabulous journey from Miss to Mrs, filled with joy and memories you’ll cherish forever!
  • Do I need to make an appointment?
Yes, our private bridal suite is by appointment-only for those brides who are on the serious hunt & ready to purchase their made-to-order gown. This ensures you have exclusive access to our bridal suite and our undivided attention during your visit. Bridal appointments typically last around 1.5 hours, while prom appointments are scheduled for about 45 minutes to an hour. We can’t wait to give you a personalised and unforgettable experience!
  • Do you charge a fee for appointments?
We only charge a £25 booking fee for Saturday bridal appointments—there’s no charge for midweek visits! The best part? This fee is fully reimbursed once you say “yes” to your dress with us! We only charge for the initial appointment, subsequent visits are on the house. When you book with us, you’ll enjoy exclusive access to our bridal suite for 1.5 hours, all dedicated to you. Since we only see one bride at a time, we often have to turn brides away, which is why we have implemented this fee. To ensure you have the best experience, feel free to explore our website beforehand to see if we're your vibe. We can’t wait to help you find the dress of your dreams!
  • How many people can I bring with me?
As much as we love the idea of a party in our boutique, we believe your bridal appointment should be an intimate experience focused entirely on you and the vibe you want to create for your big day. Too many opinions can lead to confusion, and we want your shopping experience to be joyful, not stressful! That said, we can comfortably accommodate up to 3 guests (4 if we’re feeling a bit adventurous). We recommend bringing along those whose opinions you truly trust and who will support your decision-making. Remember, you can’t please everyone, and sometimes less is more. Plus, keeping your dress choice a surprise for the big day adds to the magic!
  • Can I bring children to my appointment?
Babies in arms (under 1 year and not yet walking) are welcome, but we have a strict no children on site policy due to the boutique layout. We absolutely adore little ones at Te Amo Bridal - however, we understand the importance for you to be able to fully focus on finding your dream dress. We want to ensure that everyone has a wonderful and safe experience!
  • Can I take photographs?
We kindly ask that you hold off on snapping photos of the dresses or yourself in them—after all, it’s all about how the dress feels, not how it looks pre-alterations! But don’t worry, we’re more than happy to grab a fun group shot of you and your entourage to remember the day!
  • Can you look after my dress at the boutique until the wedding?
Absolutely! We offer FREE storage for your dress as part of our exceptional service. You can rest easy knowing that your gown will be safe and sound with us until your big day!
  • Do I have to pay for my wedding dress in one lump sum?
Not at all! To order your dress, we require a 50% deposit of the total price. A further 25% is required 4 months later. Once your gown arrives at the boutique, we’ll invite you back for a fitting and to settle the remaining balance within 7 days of arrival. If you prefer a more flexible approach, we also offer payment plans. Just reach out to us to discuss your needs, as these plans can vary based on how far your wedding date is. We’re here to make the payment process as stress-free as possible!
  • I’m on a budget; can I still purchase my dress from Te Amo?
Absolutely! We believe every bride deserves to find her dream dress, no matter the budget. We have a collection that features beautiful bridal gowns ranging from £799 to £999. Plus, don’t miss our outlet section! Here you’ll find carefully selected sample dresses priced at £750 and under—each one in immaculate condition, ready for its moment to shine. Just a heads up: we only have one of each dress, so if you fall in love, act fast! You can browse our stunning selection in the ‘designers’ section of our website. And don’t worry, we’ll store your dress for free and you can still take advantage of our fabulous seamstress, Caroline!
  • I’ve said 'YES' to my dress, but I've changed my mind —what can I do?
We totally understand—sometimes that initial “YES!” can turn into a bit of uncertainty months down the line. It's easy to forget that magical feeling you had when you first tried it on! Once you’ve said 'YES,' we start the process of bringing your dream dress to life, which means all orders are final. Wedding nerves and anxiety can play a big role in making you second-guess your choice. Just remember, you chose that dress for a reason! We also encourage you to avoid browsing Pinterest or looking at other dresses once you’ve made your decision, as that can lead to confusion and doubt. If you’re feeling unsure, please reach out to us. We’re here to support you and can discuss any concerns to help you feel fabulous and confident in your choice!
  • My wedding has been cancelled and I've ordered my dress —what can I do?
We’re so sorry to hear that your plans have changed. Unfortunately once you’ve placed your order with Te Amo Bridal and paid the 50% deposit, we instruct the designer to start crafting your beautiful dress. As a result, all orders are final, and the remaining balance will be due when your gown arrives in the boutique. If you have any concerns or special requests, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help the best we can!
